Hi everyone!
I’m so excited to launch my new website. I’ve been wanting to change things for a while now, and I’m so thankful this could happen. My website will not only show my latest work, but also a blog where I can finally get some thoughts out of my head. I also hope it will be a resource for educating my clients and fellow image lovers out there.
But before we get too far, let me introduce myself.
Hi, I’m Gabrielle.
I live in the Inland Empire which is about an hour away from Los Angeles. My interest in photography began when one of my best friends and I started doing little photoshoots with our iPods Touches. In high school, I got my first camera, and I could not put it down. I went on to receive my Certificate and Associates in Photography, an Associates in Visual Arts, and my Associates for Transfer in Studio Arts. Now, I am pursuing my Bachelor's in Visual Arts. (If you didn’t realize, I kinda like school).
I love to play piano, guitar, ukulele, and to sing with my friends. I really enjoy salsa and swing dancing. Some of my favorite aesthetics and creative inspirations come from classic films like Casablanca, the Philip Marlowe mysteries, Funny Face, The Thin Man, and Singin' in the Rain.
Lately, I have realized that my interests in photography have been changing. I started out doing more traditional shoots like portraits, weddings, etc…but over the past two years, I’ve realized that isn’t the only kind of photography around. Although I still love and do those shoots, I have a great passion for activism, spreading awareness, and hopefully changing the world one click at a time, hence the name, Chasing Horizons. As this new direction unfolds, my work continues to be dedicated to my Lord Jesus Christ. To check out my Activism/Documentary portfolio click here.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. It means more than you can ever know.
God bless you all! Until next time,
Gabrielle
To quote Captain Jack Sparrow because I can't resist,
"Now...Bring me that horizon."
“Out of the north comes golden splendor; around God is awesome majesty.”
Job 37:22
"In Him was life, and the life was the Light of mankind. And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not grasp it."
John 1: 4-5
“If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me. If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,” Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.”
Psalms 139:9-12
